Lathe Machinist
Cox Machine, LLC seeks a CNC Lathe machinist to join our team. As one of our CNC Machinists, you will interpret customer prints, program with CAM software as needed, set up the machine and monitor it as it operates. We are a high mix low volume machine shop focused on the Aerospace, Defense, and special equipment market segments. We frequently machine components from Titanium, Inconel, Super Duplex, Stainless steel, and exotic alloys. The position requires great attention to detail and the desire to work with and be a world class machinist. We are a high-performance shop, which brings an increased level of stress involved in machining highly complex, difficult to machine components. This position will require the willingness and ability to work overtime between 1 and 15 hours per week depending on work load and team needs. Compensation: $22-$28 per hour depending on experience, attitude, and skill set. Regular performance bonuses based on overall shop performance and individual performance. Regular raises and pay increase incentive programs by achieving trade specific certificates. Generous Paid vacation and Paid holidays based on number of hours worked. QSEHRA monthly allowance to offset health insurance costs, copays, prescriptions, etc. Retirement plan with company contribution. Flexible work schedule - no set-in stone shift hours. Job Responsibilities: Determine the work holding and tooling necessary to complete jobs according to specifications. Discuss project specifications with co-workers and supervisors to guarantee consistency, and collaborate to modify methods as required. Modify machine speed, tooling and cutting style to ensure precision and accuracy of manufactured parts. Oversee cutting process, make adjustments throughout each job, catch mistakes as they happen and take necessary measures to eliminate errors. Supervise machine temperatures, ensure that machine has adequate warm-up and cool-down time between jobs and replace coolant periodically. Review, alter, and program parts as needed with CAM software and G-code. Inspect all finished products for accuracy and uniformity to ensure product quality. Perform daily, weekly and monthly maintenance tasks to ensure machine longevity, including lubrication, cleaning and tool replacement. Job Skills & Qualifications Reqiured: High school diploma or equivalent US Citizen At least one year of experience as a CNC Lathe Machinist. Comfortable using tools and maintaining machinery. Familiarity with programming and interpreting CNC controls and CAM software. Preferred: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Strong work ethic and attention to detail Ability to understand G-code Experience with CAD/CAM software Experience with HAAS and OKUMA controls |
